Your teams must plan a way to get 200 eggs to a given destination, in hilly terrain! An intercom links you to a second team which has a similar (but not identical) objective. At some point your team will realise that their map contains vital information that you need (and vice versa).
To encourage co-operation between teams their Brief states that it is the two team's combined score that counts. But invariably teams miss this given objective, treating each other as rival teams!
In this updated version there are extra materials making it possible to have a second pair of teams running in parallel to the first set - so enough materials for four teams in all. One pair communicate with intercoms, the second pair with written notes and fact-to-face meetings.
We regularly use 'Mission Improbable' to test competencies and highlight development needs.

We recently used 'Mission Improbable' with a senior sales team from a large IT company that already confessed to having communication problems. Perhaps predictably enough, the session rapidly descended into chaos - but the outcomes were a resounding success!
L. Thompson, Professional Coaching Services
'Mission Improbable!' was a great success and enjoyed by all. I used it at a Leadership Team Development Workshop with a global pharmaceutical company. The behaviours during the task were amazing - it must have been a full 25 minutes into the exercise before either team actually asked, "Hang on guys, what, exactly, are we trying to achieve?". The debrief and lessons proved very valuable to the team and we referred back to the exercise several times during the week's training course.

'Mission Improbable' is one of the best training activities I've EVER used! Fun, challenging and rich for team coaching.
