Teams represent Robin Self, a manager planning for the next four weeks. He or she already has some meetings scheduled in the diary. In the task there are new ones to put in as well as space for routine work. Additionally there are 26 tasks that must either be scheduled into Robin’s diary or delegated to a member of the staff of three – of whom teams have all the necessary background info.
After 90 minutes the schedules are ‘marked’ by computer out of 100 and a six-page report is printed. It’s surprising how teams miss scheduled appointments, delegate without checking diaries and delegate to the wrong person. Teams are looking for a score of 80% or above!
The Trainer's Notes and PowerPoint provide full support.
I use 'Managing Time' as the opening activity in our Supervision & Delegation training - for those new(ish) to line management and supervisory roles. It's challenging but flexible as it can be debreifed in various ways depending on the needs/interests of the group. Brilliant! Northgate is my favourite provider of learning activities.

Used with staff at all levels - 'Managing Time' has worked brilliantly and really sticks in people's minds. Love it! Easy to use and effective - great value for money.
