Proud to be National Activity Partner to Learning at Work Week 2022

We are proud to be a National Activity Partner for Learning at Work Week 16-22 May 2022!

For this year's theme of 'Learning Uncovered', we have developed a short training activity called Reaching Agreement. It's an opportunity to practise problem-solving in a group where agreement of all parties is required. How can consensus be effectively and speedily reached? It lasts just 30 minutes excluding the debrief and can be used in both virtual and face-to-face training.

In the activity, each person has their own objective and their own agenda, but these may conflict with the objectives of other team members. This is not an uncommon situation in the workplace when working with others on projects. How is the situation best managed?

Solving the problem can be very simple if everyone is ready to listen to each other’s views and to compromise to get what everyone wants. However competition often rears its head and participants can end up only focusing on their own needs without thinking of others! The question is: will teams be able to share information and listen to each other to come to a mutually agreeable solution?
