4-in-1: Assessing Key Competencies™ | Training Activity

• To assess a range of key competencies in four separate skills areas
• To identify delegates' strengths and weaknesses
• To continue assessing individuals back at work
• To provide delegates with a base on which to design improvement strategies

Assess four different competencies with team assessment exercises covering: leadership, teamwork, group decision-making and time management. Observe and evaluate skills levels in a very practical way. In under an hour – sometimes less – you will quickly gain insight into participants’ strengths and weaknesses – as will the participants themselves.

There’s nowhere to hide! Over 18 different forms help you to record the results and let participants reflect on their performance – and where necessary plan strategies for improvement.

All four activities are for up to 24 delegates per session (minimum 3-12) and details of how delegates are arranged in each individual activity, are supplied in the Trainer's Notes.

1. All four activities are designed for a 60-minute session but there is enough
   additional material to extend sessions to two hours. Use with up to 24 participants, working together in small groups or teams.
2. Choose one of the four activities. Before the session print the required number
   of Briefs, Forms and Handouts (all supplied digitally). Briefly introduce the session and issue a copy of the Brief to each team and an Observer’s Form to each observer.
3. Allow the activity to proceed to completion.
4. All timings supplied.
5. Issue Review Forms and allow time for individuals, teams, observers to complete
   them.
6. Lead a Debrief by first listening to what teams and individuals have to say about
   their performance and listen to observer views. Use the guidance notes in the Trainer’s Notes to go through each point on the Review Forms and structure (and control!) the discussion.
7. Establish the overall lessons of the session.
8. Issue Handouts to each individual to take back to the workplace.

This Northgate Training activity comes with a five-year licence for repeat use with up to 24 participants at a time, for use by Trainers based at one licence-holding site.

All Trainers physically based at the same office location can access the Northgate resources during the five-year term, including the digital resources supplied on the Trainerhub via your own site-specific Trainer Dashboard. If you have Trainers based at other locations, and/or remote workers, who would like to access and use the Northgate resources, we can advise further depending on your requirements.
