5-Activity Package Offer

The learning objectives differ for each activity. Visit each individual product page for further information and here is a general overview for each activity:

• Coaching: The Coaching Game™ is a highly-popular board game that encourages interaction and mini coaching sessions. An ideal introduction or refresher on basic coaching skills.
• Communication: Communication is the Key!™ is an exciting activity where two teams are given a task which allows them to score points. but it is the joint score that counts. So, they need to help each other.  But with only an email connection via a laptop and infrequent meetings, can they communicate effectively without making assumptions?
• Managing People: Talking to Staff!™ includes an optional online program. Effective managers praise good behaviour in public and sanction bad in private. Many managers fear confrontation. This activity shows how to conduct one on one meetings with staff easily, professionally and with a clear and straightforward approach.
• Teamwork: RollaBall!™ is for three teams and highlights the importance of good communications together with high levels of cooperation between teams. In the workplace different sections and departments need to work in union for success. Together we stand, divided we fall!
• Time Management: Time Trial!™ is a great test of essential workplace skills, namely managing the limited time available and being able to prioritise. This activity, set in a Safari Park, highlights the need for good planning, effective delegation skills, what to focus on at work and when to just say No!

The role of the Trainer differs slightly from activity to activity (please see individual product pages for details) though there are some essential common elements to all Northgate activities. Here they are:

1. Introduce the activity to the group – often there is a PowerPoint to help though you may prefer a direct verbal intro.
2. Divide the group into teams - usually 3-6 per team with a maximum most of the time of up to four teams.
3. Issue Team Briefs or resources to each team. These inform them what to do (and if it is scenario-based, who they represent with details of the task).
4. Observe teams in action, picking up on key behaviours and attitudes that you can refer to at the debrief.
5. At the close of the activity there may be Team Reviews to use, Handouts of Key Points to issue etc so teams can reflect on their performance.
6. During the Debrief you can listen to teams’ experiences, bring out the learning points, summarise the session and transfer the learning to the workplace. Full Trainer’s Notes are included for each activity that contain all the details and answers that you need, with commentary.

Each Northgate Training activity in this bundle comes with a five-year licence for repeat use with up to 12-24 participants at a time (the maximum participant numbers per licence varies for each activity), for use by Trainers based at one licence-holding site.

All Trainers physically based at the same office location can access the Northgate resources during the five-year term, including the digital resources supplied on the Trainerhub via your own site-specific Trainer Dashboard. If you have Trainers based at other locations, and/or remote workers, who would like to access and use the Northgate resources, we can advise further depending on your requirements.
