Now for face-to-face AND virtual training sessions!
Here at Northgate, we’ve noticed a consistent theme lately - Trainers are asking for activities that focus on:
- Team collaboration
- Breaking down silos
- Building relationships
Maybe it’s a post-COVID thing! Our latest activity addresses all these issues and many more (problem-solving, attention to detail, trust etc).
In Escape from Mars! four teams are trying to get off the Red Planet’s surface at the end of a mission.
The Bad News: there’s only ONE Escape Pod.
The Good News: it can carry all four teams!
All teams have to do is:
- find out where the Escape Pod is!
- work out the computer Entry Code
- build a Mars Rover to get it (face-to-face version) or ‘assemble’ a transponder (virtual version)
- solve 10 tasks
Not too difficult, I hear you say.
But some tasks require information to be exchanged - and this is where cooperation and trust come in (or leave the building). Will teams help each other, or not? Can they build a relationship that involves absolute trust?
WARNING: This game may reveal something about the culture of your organisation. It certainly reveals participants’ behaviours and actions.
