A great starter to encourage interaction and discussion. Good for assessment as it focuses on how team members interact and what they contribute. Teams make decisions in an uncertain
situation and present their findings.

Collaborative Teamwork: The Escape Room ™ 4-team

• Test how well teams perform when working under pressure
• Test teams’ understanding of a complex task
• Practise organisational and time-management skills
• Highlight the value of teams interacting and sharing data with other teams (in cooperation, not rivalry)
• Test teams’ approach to problem-solving (lateral thinking)

Focuses on the importance of thinking before acting, paying close attention to the problem, thinking outside the box and, crucially, working in close cooperation with others in the workplace (rather than trying to compete). Two heads, or more, are always better than one as teams usually find out - the hard way!

The role of the Trainer differs slightly from activity to activity (please see individual product pages for details) though there are some essential common elements to all Northgate activities. Here they are:

1. Introduce the activity to the group.
2. Divide the group into teams - usually 3-6 per team.
3. Issue Team Briefs to each team. These inform them what to do with details of the task.
4. Observe teams in action, picking up on key behaviours and attitudes that you can refer to at the debrief.
5. At the close of the activity there may be Team Reviews to use, Handouts of Key Points to issue etc so teams can reflect on their performance.
6. During the Debrief you can listen to teams’ experiences, bring out the learning points, summarise the session and transfer the learning to the workplace. Full Trainer’s Notes are included for each activity that contain all the details and answers that you need, with commentary.

These activities are for face-to-face and virtual classroom use. The digital files are supplied via the Northgate Trainerhub.

Each Northgate Training activity in this bundle comes with a five-year licence for repeat use with up to 24 participants at a time, for use by Trainers based at one licence-holding site.

All Trainers physically based at the same office location can access the Northgate resources during the five-year term, including the digital resources supplied on the Trainerhub via your own site-specific Trainer Dashboard. If you have Trainers based at other locations, and/or remote workers, who would like to access and use the Northgate resources, we can advise further depending on your requirements.
