The Power of Teams™ | Card Deck

Each of the four teams nominates a leader, or the Facilitator can choose one for them. Leaders are given 5 minutes to study a straightforward task and then brief their team.

Each team has a card showing 58 different coloured counters. Their task is to calculate the value of all the counters – in $. Each coloured counter has a different value. For example, all the reds are worth $7 each (teams don't know this at the start).

Each team has six Clue cards giving clues on the value of the counters. But the data needs interpreting - it's not that straightforward! It involves sharing information and working together effectively. Will teams be capable of effective teamwork to crack the clues?

Instructions on how to set up and run this teamwork game are included in each card deck. So easy to run!

1. Divide participants into teams. You can have up to four teams at a time.
2. Ask teams to choose a leader or choose one for them.
3. Take leaders aside and give each a copy of the Leader’s brief for 5 minutes’ study, meanwhile give each team a copy of the Participants’ brief to study.
4. After 5 minutes leaders return to their teams with six Clue Cards and the Counters Chart and begin briefing.
5. Allow teams 20-30 minutes to complete the task.
6. Check teams’ answers and lead a debrief. Use
   the two debrief cards to focus on the SIX key teamwork points that should emerge from the activity. If time, go through the six key leadership points.
